Three Michelin star French chef Anne-Sophie Pic is crossing the channel to take on the might of London in her first UK restaurant which will be located inside the city's luxury Four Seasons Hotel.
Due to open on 26 January 'La Dame de Pic', will bring creative French flair to the classic English dining room at Ten Trinity Square. The head chef will be Italian, Luca Piscazzi, who previously worked at Amber, in Hong Kong.
"London is a very competitive city for restaurants, so don't give me too much pressure," Pic said and laughed during an interview in London with Bloomberg. "I really want to do well in London because I want people to experience my cuisine, and, obviously, to like it."
Known for continually revisiting ingredients and exploring unusual cooking methods, Chef Pic will be showcasing her distinct culinary identity rich in "powerful and unexpected flavour combinations" with a "focus on seasonal and local ingredients." The menu has yet to be revealed but Bloomberg have disclosed she is planning a fixed-price lunch menu, which may cost about £39 ($50).
Anne-Sophie Pic is the only woman to hold three Michelin stars in France at Anne-Sophie Pic, in Valence. She holds two more stars for Anne-Sophie Pic, in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a sixth for La Dame de Pic in Paris. The chef shelved plans to open two new eateries in New York a couple of years ago.
