Family recipes are rarely written down. The legendary ones are passed down from generation to generation, or sometimes go to the grave with their creators. And the family lunch on a Sunday? Well that seems to change every week, there isn’t really a recipe to speak of.
However, one artist has come up with a great way to preserve these recipes for posterity. For $150, Jessica McGuirl, aka First Pancake Studio, will hand illustrate a family recipe of your choosing. Just send her the recipe and she’ll do the rest, adding hand-lettered text and illustrations to a 9” by 12” piece. Check out some examples of her work below.
