Restaurant Magazine has named its 100 best restaurants in the UK for 2016 in The National Restaurant Awards, and it’s a Michelin-starred pub in the garden of England that has come out on top.
The Sportsman in Seasalter, Kent, runner-up in 2015 and helmed by chef-patron Stephen Harris has taken the top spot from last year’s winner Barrafina Adelaide Street, which slipped to second it was announced at the awards ceremony in London.
Third, fourth and fifth spots were taken by The Ledbury and Hedone in London and Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac, Cornwall respectively. Other awards included Cocktail List of the Year and Chef’s Chef of the Year, while Pierre Koffmann was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Votes were taken from 150 industry experts across the UK, including chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and critics. See the top 20 below and browse the full top 100 here.
