Whatever your thoughts on people photographing their food – and we’re sure there are some very strong opinions out there – Instagram is an undeniably useful way for foodies to discover global cuisine, gain insight into the minds of the most creative chefs, and connect with like-minded people.
We thought we’d put all those hours to good use, and so each week we’ll be bringing you the best Instagram food snaps that've caught our eye, from the most beautiful dishes to the biggest food stories and innovations. Enjoy, and remember, food is for eating.
Our snapper captured this wonderful dessert at Rodolfo Guzmán's Boragó in Santiago, Chile, one of Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants, and has confirmed that it tasted as good as it looks – if that's possible.

This week, chefs in Naples created a pizza measuring almost two kilometeres in length, beating the previous Guinness World Record set in Milan in 2015. Whether it is still being eaten is unclear.
