If you dream of getting home from a hard day's work to a welcome glass of your favourite chilled white or aerated red, on tap, those days are about to become a reality.
Courtesy of wine dispenser start up Synek, Somm, is the new device that promises wine lovers the opportunity to indulge their passion at home. By plugging in the 'connected' wine pourer, the kitchen counter top Somm houses a 'sylo' of your favourite wine which can be simply poured on demand, whenever the desire takes you.
So how does it work?
If the thought of a 'sylo' of wine doesn't sound amazing enough, racking up an impressive three bottles of wine inside each container, the company says that the Somm will also 'learn your palate'.
Oenophiles can connect with a 'smart' app to learn more about their chosen wine and feedback on their preferences which guides future purchase decisions, with the next sylo being delivered straight to the door. With 30 different wines currently on offer, that's a small lake of 75 litres of wine to get through.
Here's the practical bit:
Reaching its $100,000 kickstarter funding target just 15 hours after its launch this is a project that looks like it has legs. A promotional price of $199 applies before final retail where the eventual price will go up by $100.

Is there space enough in your kitchen for one of these?
