Cronut creator Dominique Ansel has got us licking our lips in anticipation once again as he reveals the new American Dream after-hours dessert-only tasting menu at Dominique Ansel Kitchen.
Building on the success of last year's UP (Unlimited Possibilities), this time round the French American pastry chef is re-living the American dream. A seven course tasting menu will unfold in front of eight expectant sweet toothed diners, per sitting, at Ansel's tasting table in the upstairs kitchen space.
The menu sweeps through iconic American dreams starting with the 'Eureka' moment when early settlers first struck gold, or sourdough nuggets in this case, along with acacia honey and cold brew to the 1950s picture perfect homes with picketed white fences where passion fruit and pickled persimmon and more sit on manicured lawns (see below) finishing off with the Tech boom and #GoingViral (main image) in homage to the Instagram era.
If you really want to make an evening of it, legendary mixologist Jim Meehan has created the wine and cocktail pairings, including flaming 'Dr Peppe' and a twist on a French 75 made with sloe gin.
