Michelin Chicago 2016
The Michelin Guide for Chicago 2016 has been released with little movement when compared with last year’s big shifts.
In the two star category, the Acadia restaurant by Ryan McCaskey jumped from one star to two stars while the three star tier stayed the same as last year with Alinea and Grace the only restaurants to hold Michelin’s highest accolade in the city.
With reports originally available on Bloomberg news around five hours ago - it seems there was a leak caused by the publication releasing the news earlier than they should have.
In the one star range there were just two new additions with the Dusek’s (Board and Beer) gastropub and the Korean restaurant Parachute both receiving their first star.
The results seem a little dull this year when you remember that in 2015 there was a new three star announcement in Grace and restaurants flying straight to two. There’s still no stars for NEXT - the constantly evolving restaurant from Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas - anyone who has eaten there knows it’s deserving of one but their ever changing menu and themes make it impossible for Michelin to give them their important mark of consistency - a shame.
