The Michelin Guide for Switzerland 2016 has been released and the country now has a new three starred establishment after chef Peter Knogl’s Cheval Blanc restaurant inside the Hôtel Trois Rois, Basel, received the highest possible accolade awarded by the guide, rising from two to three stars.
That takes the total of three-star restaurants in Switzerland to three, with retuarant Schloss Schauenstein and chef Andreas Caminada, and Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville with chef Benoit Violier both retaining their three-star status.
There were no new entries in the category below this with the country retaining the 18 two-star restaurants from the 2015 guide. In the one-star section, there were a total of 13 new restaurants awarded their first star.
Overall, Michelin now has three three-starred restaurants, 18 two-starred and 95 one-starred restaurants.
Below you can see a list of all those restaurants to gain and retain stars in the Michelin guide for Switzerland 2016.
