The Gannet restaurant in Glasgow has been named as the AA Scottish Restaurant of The Year Award.
The Glasgow restaurant, which was noted for it’s mix of high end food and service packed in a welcoming, informal style, is owned by Peter Mckenna and Ivan Stein.
The Gannet serves a mix of seasonal driven Scottish dishes that see classics ingredients like Scottish salmon, beef and herring served in a creative, simple and modern way.
Speaking about the award, Mckenna said: “It was two years ago this week that we opened the doors of The Gannet to the public for the first time. Who would have though that we would be accepting such a prestigious award in such a short space of time?”
The award in Scotland is well respected and comes from a group that has been highlighting the best restaurants in the UK since 1908.
