Barcelona's answer to fast food culture is Catalan cuisine for cyclists. The aptly named Ham on Wheels is a new cycling centric café come premium fast food restaurant located in a bustling city neighbourhood of the popular Catalan destination.
Simple yet stylish the decor of this new design fast food joint has attracted a lot of attention for its design flair using strong colours, original concepts and plenty of space. A simple sandwich menu focuses on quality Spanish ingredients including the stars of the show 'acorn fed Iberican ham', 'coca' bread and tomato.
With more than 30 toast combinations available they have even thought of non-ham lovers. In a clever take on words the restaurant name ‘ham on’ is taken from the Spanish name and pronunciation for ham (jamon) and can just as easily be adapted to ‘ham off’ toast for vegetarians.

An example of one of the most popular toasts; Bread, tomato, Iberica ham, Maldon salt and oil.
The playful interior lends itself to cycle lovers who can perch on a leather bike saddle for lunch whilst admiring the stacked hexagonal jars of tomato sauce which adorn the walls and the dozens of wrapped hams hanging from the ceiling.
Designated cycle lanes add to the two wheel appeal.
