Jamie Oliver has announced plans to take two of his restaurant chains to India, opening a Jamie’s Italian and Jamie’s Pizzeria in Delhi this Autumn.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be bringing Jamie’s Italian and Jamie’s Pizzeria to India. Delhi is a vibrant, colourful, buzzing city with an already incredible food scene, so to be opening two restaurants there is a huge honour”, said the chef.
The move is expected to be the first in many Oliver will make across the country as he looks to expand his successful restaurant business.
Speaking about the food, he said that menus have not been developed specifically for India but that some extra dishes would be added: “ We’ve increased the vegetarian range and focused on crowd-pleasing dishes like cold-cut veg and non veg planks, risotto, prawn linguine, tagliatelle Bolognese, fresh baked bread, a lamb burger, grilled pork chops, superfood salad, ice cream, tiramisu, brownies and much much more”.
Oliver now has over 60 restaurants in 11 different countries and India could be his next big market to crack.
