Thomas Keller is taking to the oceans after the announcement the award winning chef is set to work with the Seaborn luxury cruise line operator to help them develop a range of dishes and train kitchen staff.
In a press release, the cruise company said Keller will open a ‘signature restaurant’ onboard the company’s new ship, Seabourn Quest, in 2016 before it’s rolled out across their entire fleet.
For now he’s working with the company to develop a range of range of dishes for three of their ships. These dishes are expected to be available in Fall 2015.
To make sure the Keller touch is felt across the new ventures, cukinary staff from the cruise ships will be sent for ‘educational sessions’ with Thomas Keller Restaurant Group's Chef de Cuisine Devin Knell. These session will be held at Keller’s research and development kitchen at in California.
It’s a move that Keller said he performs with any new restaurant he opens. "As in any of our land-bound kitchens, we will work with the Seabourn team to place an emphasis on the finest ingredients, consistent preparations, and an attention to service that will elevate the guests' experience and help them to make memories while on their Seabourn journey.” We can’t wait to see the menu.
