Globally renown chef Heston Blumenthal is known for being a "mad scientist" in the kitchen, creating mind-blowing dishes with layers of unexpected flavors at this Michelin-starred restaurants. As you can imagine, the British chef has a unique perspective on the meaning of creativity.
Below you'll find a video of the chef's recent interview with Olive Magazine, in which he discusses the meaning of creativity. He affirms that "you can't teach creativity" because "it's an oxymoron" and that being creative is an ongoing process which grows and matures when you work on it.
Although he's known for being in search of ''perfection,'' Blumenthal says this isn't a good mix with creativity. "The word perfectionism has no place in creativity. It is the enemy of creativity. It breeds fear... Failure doesn't exist in creativity."
