In an amazing tribute to Gaudí, the Modernist Cuisine team have gone all out and recreated his famous Casa Batlló building in Barcelona using gingerbread.
This one does not come with the recipe as Nathan Myhrvold prints, cooks and crafts every part of the building using a whole host of different techniques.
We thought the company offering to recreate an exact gingerbread replica of your own home was going quite far but Modernist Cuisine have taken the art of Gingerbread houses to a whole new level.
The video only last a minute but you get a sense of just what a laborious task it was. Everything is edible, Jolly Rancher tiles and glass, icing shingles, edible gold and rice paper snowflakes.
The piece is finished with ‘a powdering of tapioca maltodextrin.’
