The Italian chef Massimo Bottura has teamed up with Shake Shack to offer an exclusive burger inspired by the chef’s roots in Emilia Romagna, Italy. Called Emilia, the burger is made with beef mixed with Parmigiano-Reggiano, salsa verde, a balsamic mayonnaise and some cotechino.
Bottura will be at Shake Shack's Madison Square Park location on Monday helping serve his creation to the public and helping the burger joint celebrate Columbus Day in style.
The burger will also mark the closing of Shake Shack’s original location as it closes for 5 months for renovation. They cost $8.95 piece and with just 1,000 burgers on offer you can expect big queues, at least bigger than usual.
Bottura is in America to promote his new book, Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef.
