Tickets for Noma’s upcoming move to Japan at The Madarin Oriental in Tokyo will go on sale June 23rd, 1pm Japan times - you can use this simple timezone calculator to check what that time equates to where you are.
Noma is currently ranked number one on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna and head chef Rene Redzepi told FDL he will transport the entire staff with him when he goes to Japan.
The tickets, which include dinner, one night’s stay at the Mandarin Oriental, breakfast and a special gift, cost JPY 149,50o ($1,465). All people have to do to book is visit a special link on the hotel’s website at the above times, expect tickets to sell quickly.
Those wanting book for lunch must do so through the Noma website, costing JPY 39,000 ($382)per person plus tax and service charge.
Redzepi spoke with FDL back in April about the project, saying: "I don’t know what I’m hoping for but I think it’s going to change us. I just want to go and see where it takes us, that’s what I want. We have this unique opportunity, the whole staff is behind it, everybody wants to go, it’s going to be difficult, we’re going to work our ass off but you know what, it’s going to be amazing. Technique, approach, inspiration - they have all this rich tradition to build on.
“I have a plan with Noma going forward, four or five years from now, where Japan is very important for my future plan - which I can’t tell you about. Something I’ve been thinking about for a couple of years about Noma, something I want to do to it and going to Japan is also a part of that". Read the full interview here.
