WATCH: Jamie Oliver Speaks Bad Cantonese

British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is getting a lot of flak for this video in which he announces a new restaurant opening in Hong Kong this summer. The twist? He attempts to speak Cantonese but fails miserably.

However, it’s all good for Oliver who laughs it off and tries again…and again…and again. He mistakenly says he is opening an “’an enormous mountain,” “something slippery” and ’Italian submarine’’ in Hong Kong. We can’t make this stuff up!

Disclaimer: we don’t speak Cantonese either so we can’t guarantee we’d pronounce the words any better. But it’s pretty hilarious stuff to see the chef struggle to get the words right. Watch:
