Acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud of Daniel in New York has offered up his list of the best restaurants in the world.
Speaking with the Telegraph, Boulud said: “For me a good restaurant is one that draws you back, it’s somewhere where you can have an intimate, personal, emotional experience. The best restaurants tend to be those that remain true to their essence but continue to evolve, ones where new generations of diners are welcomed but faithful guests can return in comfort year after year. There’s always so much focus on what’s new, but I take pleasure in returning to what’s old.”
After clarifying the factors that make a great restaurant for him the French born chefs goes on to offer up a look at some of his top places to eat around the world with descriptions as to why he has chosen each place.
Boulud picks two restaurants in Italy with Dal Pescatore by Nadia Santini and Osteria Francescana by Massimo Bottura. Some of the other spots to make the list are Maison Troisgros in France and Grant Achatz's Alinea in Chicago.
