If you thought Cronut fever had died down, boy were you wrong. Pastry wizard Dominique Ansel is at it again, this time with an enticing new Cronut flavor debuting in November: salted dulce de leche.
Ansel shared the news with fans via Twitter by posting a picture of a Cronut covered in dulce de leche (a creamy milk-based caramel) ganache and dusted with fleur de sel with the caption: ''November Cronutâ„¢ flavor: Salted Dulce de Leche. Here's your first peek.'' We have to say, it looks just as delicious as the rest of Ansel's creations.
However, the new Cronut isn't the only addition to the SoHo bakery. The chef is introducing a hot chocolate cart to soothe those brave souls waiting in line for Cronuts, Grub Street reports. The cart will operate one hour before opening on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If only it was there when FDL braved the cold at 6 a.m. to stand in line for a taste of Magic Souffle?
If you just don't have time to wait in line for a Cronut or catching a plane for a $5 treat is just not economically viable, why not make your own with this vegan cronut recipe.
