A new meaty phenomenon has traveled from the shores of the fictional Sicilian town of Vigata to the streets of London. It's the Vigata Healthy Burger, a homage to the famed Italian television series Inspector Montalbano.
Developed by the folks at Vigata restaurant at King's Cross, the 6-ounce beef patty is topped with mature cheddar, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and red onion served on a stone-baked bun. It's the type of burger you could imagine Salvo Montalbano eating while trying to solve one of his many enigmatic cases.
Montalbano's character is played Luca Zingaretti and has fascinated fans across Italy, the United Kingdom and the rest of the world for well over a decade. The detective show is based on Andrea Camilleri's acclaimed novels.

Salvo Di Betta, the owner of Vigata restaurant, is the man responsible for the Vigata Healthy Burger. Betta hails from Sicily and is such a big fan of the show he decided to not only name his restaurant after Montalbano's hometown but also offer Vigata-themed drinks, pizza and other dishes at his restaurant.
As a bonus, Inspector Montalbano plays on the restaurant's television screens so fans can enjoy every last bite of their Vigata-inspired food.
