Researchers at Queensland University in Australia have created a hydrating beer that actually helps prevent the dreaded morning after hangover, The Daily Meal reports.
This groundbreaking beer contains added electrolytes which make it three times more hydrating than a regular brew, researchers told The Australian. Researchers also claim the addition of electrolytes to both regular and light beers did not affect their flavor.
Associate professor Ben Desbrow explained why his team created the beer:
"We know that beer is a very popular drink with people, particularly after... sport or exertion...From our perspective it's about exploring harm minimization approaches that may still allow people to potentially drink beer as a beverage but lower the risks associated with the alcohol consumption — and hopefully improve rehydration potential."
Hangover-free beer? We'd go Down Under for that!
