Here at FDL we are keen on food design and enjoy sharing our cool finds with you. So far, we've stumbled upon some interesting crossovers of food and music - like the coffee symphony and the musical beer bottle. Now, there's another wonderful food design we'd like to bring to your attention: the glass bowl speaker system.
Designed by Chinese design student Casey Lin, this unique speaker system changes its projected sound according to the placement of the glass bowls.
Lin, a 21-year old student at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, crafted the speaker out of American walnut and opted to top it with glass vessels but you can experiment with a range of objects to hear how the sound changes.
Officially called the Timbre Speaker, this is definitely a sound system worth checking out:
