The French chef Raymond Blanc has received one of the highest awards in france, the Legion d'Honneur at a reception within the French embassy in London.
The chef received the award, which is one of the highest possible decorations in France, alongside a second one for agricultural order of merit.
Blanc who runs the two Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons restaurant in England said, "Very few people get to experience what I am experiencing," adding that he was "extremely honored and humbled".
The French ambassador, Bernard Emie, said that Blanc was receiving the honor for his "outstanding services to the French nation".
The ceremony was attended by a number of culinary figures including Albert Roux. The American chef Thomas Keller received the honor back in 2011 for his work as an ambassador for French cuisine.
