The banana war has ended between The Velvet Underground and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
A federal judge has dismissed the copyright case after being informed the two parties have reached a confidential agreement over the iconic cover art of the band's 1967 album Velvet Underground & Nico, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Members of legendary New York rock band found themselves in legal battle with Andy Warhol's estate after the latter had struck a deal with Apple for the distribution of the image.
Last year, a judge dismissed the band's copywright claim but band members still debated the image's trademark. The case raised interesting legal questions especially because neither Warhol or the band claimed a copyright on the image.
