When it comes to curries, if there is an authority on the subject it's Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. His new cookbook Curries of the World has over 100 recipes highlighting the best vegetable, meat and fish spiced dishes from India, Asia, Africa, the Americas and even the United Kingdom.
Kochhar rose to fame at his London restaurant Benares, which was the first Indian restaurant to ever be awarded a Michelin star. The chef, author and television host recently opened Simply India, a restaurant at a luxury resort in Mauritius.
Curries of the World will be honored at a cookbook release party at Indian Essence restaurant in Petts Wood, a town located about a 40 minute drive southeast of London. The event will be held on May 15th and will feature recipes from the book, as well as wine pairings.
Here's a look at the menu:
Passion Fruit and Khatti Chutney Bellini
Amuse Bouche
Laotian Scallop - Prawns and Pineapple Curry
Burmese Tamarind Pork Ribs
Sumatran Lamb Korma
Orange Scented Bhapa Doi
Petit Fours
Each dinner guest will receive a signed copy of the book. The cost of dinner is £54.95 per person and £79.95 with wine. For reservations, please contact the restaurant's website.
