Last fall, Fine Dining Lovers was invited to attend a special tour of the elBulli exhibition in Barcelona with none other than Ferran Adrià himself. We were mesmorized as the legendary chef showed us around the 30,000 items collected from elBulli, his famed three-Michelin starred restaurant which topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list five times.
Now, part of what we could only describe in words is available for you to see in this phenomenal video of the elBulli Foundation. A private foundation headed by Adrià and Juli Soler (pictured above), former manager of elBulli, will open in 2015 on the spot where the restaurant once stood.
Aside from preserving the history of elBulli, the foundation is also dedicated to research and is currently working on all components of the BulliPedia, which Adrià unveiled at the University of Barcelona this week. The BulliPedia, an online gastro-encyclopedia, is expected to go live in 2016.
Watch below as the elBulli Foundation comes alive before your eyes. You'll notice the huge elBulli exhibit we mentioned above, as well as audiovisual space along with other surprises. We should warn you the video is 19 minutes long so you may want to get comfortable.
