With just a month to go before its elBulli wine auction, Sotheby's has announced new bids: a dinner with Ferran Adrià at Tickets and exclusive memorabilia from elBulli restaurant.
The wine auction is scheduled for April 3rd in Hong Kong and April 26th in New York. It includes 8,807 from elBulli's wine list, which was carefully crafted by elBulli director Juli Soler and the help of sommeliers.
Memorabilia from elBulli, which closed in July 2011, will include four chef jackets signed by Adrià for an opening bid of HK$8,000, about $1,032.
Other items up for bid are menus, wine lists and stationary, as well as equipment designed for elBulli like mesh trays and crockery used in making its signature spherical olives, with a starting bid of HK$1,000, about $129, per set.
All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the elBulli Foundation, which is scheduled to open next year.
