This weekend, fans of the Barefoot Contessa will be able to sample Ina Garten's cooking right in their own homes. That's because the Food Network star has launched her very own line of frozen meals.
Called Barefoot Contessa Sauté Dinners for Two, the frozen meals are a collaboration with Contessa Premium Foods, a company that sued Garten over the rights to name ''Contessa,'' back in 2008, according to Food Network Gossip.
Garten has personally been involved the every step of the process concerning the frozen meals, which have been made using Barefoot Contessa recipes, according to a press release.
The meals are meant to serve two people and come in nine flavors: shrimp scampi linguine, beef bourguignon, sesame chicken and noodles, a shrimp and chicken jambalaya. penne pasta with five cheeses, tequila lime chicken, pasta carbonara with pancetta, and ginger-garlic chicken.
Don Binotto, CEO of Contessa Premium Foods, said the frozen meals will be shippped to the following stores: Shaws, Wakefern, WalMart, Safeway, Publix, Price Chopper, Meijer, Ahold and Marsh Supermarket.
Garten has been a Food Network host for over a decade. During that time she has authored eight cookbooks, of which the latest is Barefoot Contessa Foolproof: Recipes You Can Trust, a New York Times Bestseller.
