After just two issues printed, Fool Magazine, run by the husband and wife duo Per Anders and Lotta Jorgensen, has been picked as the world's best food magazine by a jury from the Gourmand Awards for 2013.
The magazine, which is a labor of love and passion from the duo, has rocked the food world ever since their first issue which featured an extensive article on the Swedish chef Magnus Nilsson.
The magazine was born from the pair's 'Foolish love of food' and last night's award places the mag on par David Chang's Lucky Peach magazine which took top spot in the 2012 awards.
Speaking after the announcement Per-Anders said: "It was a bit unreal - we had to to triple check the list to make sure we had won. We started this magazine with the intention to create a different gastronomic magazine from the ones already around. We try to be serious, provocative, fun and beautiful. It seems like our readers get it and more importantly like it!"
Issue 2 of the mag launched at the end of November with an intimate look at the life and work of the world famous chef Michel Bras. A trip to China to meet with Dai Jianjun, an interesting look at kitchen psychology and a wonderful new picture series looking back at some of the word's best chefs most iconic dishes.
"I think it's better than issue 1 - more energy, more daring and more revealing - we are determined to show people new things"
Taking a Nordic view on the world of food the team behind Fool have created something exciting, unique and a real culinary gem in the publishing world. They will continue to print in 2013 and without revealing too much Per-Anders says they will travel even further in search of new stories.
