Atul Kochhar has made a name for himself for being the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star. Now, the celebrity chef is taking his brand to Mauritius, where he has opened a fine dining restaurant at a brand new luxury resort.
The restaurant, called Simply India, is located at the recently opened St. Regis Mauritius Resort. The cuisine is inspired by the flavors of the island and the chef's signature Indian touch.
You can expect to dine on enticing dishes prepared with the outmost care and ingredients such as curry leaf, mustard seeds, chilies and local seafood from the Indian Ocean. The food is similar in style to the offerings at Kochhar's flagship restaurant Benares in London, which has one Michelin star.
Watch the chef explain his new restaurant concept in the video below. For reservations, please visit the resort website.
