As New York’s 15th edition opens its doors on Friday November 9th for a long weekend of festivities, we take a look back at what the French capital’s dedicated Salon had to offer.
From Wednesday October 31st to Sunday November 4th, 2012, the chocolate event of the year resided at the Exhibition Center of Porte de Versailles – le Salon du Chocolat.
It was, once again, the most unique celebratory gastronomic experience with over 400 participants, 200 or more renowned chefs and pastry chefs, a feast of chocolate recipes and a trade show alongside 160 chocolate exhibitors. The event is a true link between those who grow cocoa and the chocolate consumer.
The Salon is dotted with special events, performances and rituals, including the famous Chocolate Dresses Fashion Show, now an iconic event. This year’s activities included demonstrations of chocolate recipes by world famous chefs, the World Chefs Days, the Young Talents Day and the Charles Proust and Relais Desserts Day. This 18th edition especially celebrated the “New Worlds of Chocolate”, expressed in six gourmet chocolate domains during the fashion shows in partnership with la Comédie Musicale.
