What was Ferran Adria doing in Italy this weekend? He was enjoying the company and exquisite food of Gennaro Esposito, one of Italy's premier chefs whose name is synonymous with buffalo mozzarella cheese.
Gennaro welcomed Ferran to his two Michelin star restaurant Torre del Saracino, which was built in and around a 1,300-year old clocktower in the town of Vico Equense, about a half hour ride south of Naples. It was there, along the Sorrentine coast, that the two great chefs bonded over the joy of food as part of Gennaro's annual tradition.
On this ocassion, staff gathered around the terrace to hear Ferran's stories about the beginnings of elBulli, his famed restaurant which topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list five times and closed last summer. Ferran is currently working on the elBulli Foundation, which is set to open in 2014.
Staff at Torre del Saracino were overjoyed to listen to the master himself talk about his career path, according to Italian publication Scati di Gusto. Excited about his guest of honor, Gennaro posted several images to his Twitter account and told fans he had a ''fantastic day'' with Ferran.
