After closing for summer renovations Osteria Francescana, the acclaimed Italian restaurant which ranks 5th on the S. Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list, will finally reopen its doors on September 5th.
The Modena-based restaurant, which has three Michelin stars, has undergone a massive interior and exterior transformation which will highlight chef Massimo Bottura's passion for contemporary art. The restaurant will exhibit three paintings from the chef's personal collection, including Tourists by Maurizio Cattelan.
In a tweet, Bottura said the new Osteria Francescana will be all about ''Italian design, Italian art, Italian food.'' As a testament to those words, the redesign of the restaurant's entrance was done in collaboration with Bottega Veneta, a luxury line of Italian goods, and lighting designer Davide Groppi, according to Spoon HQ blog.
