A vegan diet is the best way of trimming off extra pounds just in time for the summer season. At least that's what is being advocated by PETA, the association of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA advocates against animal cruelty and advertises eating vegan as the best diet for clear skin and a healthy body.

The Kind Diet - Written by Hollywood actress Alicia Silverstone, the book details her journey into veganism with lots of anecdotes and recipes to help you get started on your vegan diet.
The Lean - Author Kathy Freston was another meat lover who found balance in a vegan diet. In her book, she combines vegan recipes with exercise advice to get you leaner.
By Any Greens Necessary - A book written by one African-American woman to another. Author Tracye Lynn McQuirter wants African-American woman to keep their curves but transtion to healthier vegan eating. It's a book that can benefit all women.
