With the some of the world's best chefs coming together for this years World's 50 Best Restaurants ceremony in a just a few days. London's already bustling restaurant scene is starting to get even busier as venues across the city host guest chefs and parties for the world's culinary elite.
The one dinner on everyone's minds is the chefs special lunch which takes place the day after the ceremony on the 1st of May. This year will see the chefs visit the Zuma restaurant owned and run by the German chef, Rainer Becker. Becker has a highly decorated career working all over the world and with some of the best chefs in the business and it's him and his team who have been tasked with cooking for some of the most discerning palettes in the world.
The informal and sharing style of dining at Zuma is perfect for an event like this in which the chefs will surely be eager to switch tables as they move around the room catching up with colleagues. Zuma is known for it's Japanese style of cuisine and for its convivial setting - it opened in 2002 and has grown every year since then with the restaurant now boasting about having the only sake sommelier in europe. But what do you serve to the world's best chef?
To name just a few dishes, Becker will serve: seared salmon, grilled Chilean seabass and special sushi and sashimi selections. There will also be a huge ice display as a center piece for the restaurant and a way of marking the celebration.
