Useful in both starred restaurants and small homey kitchens, the, QOOQ French Digital Cookbook is the first tablet designed especially with cooks in mind. Presented at the last CES – the annual electronic fair in Las Vegas – it’s the latest gadget to skilfully combine cooking with technology.
With its waterproof cover, it’s impermeable to splatters of oil, bread crumbs and dripped sauces. So even the clumsiest cooks don’t have to worry about cleaning their hands before touching their tablet.
And the QOOQ is ready to play the part of culinary consultant: it’s Linux operating system is integrated with over 3,000 recipes, 250 videos demonstrating preparation techniques, tips and advice on over 200 wine labels and much, much more. It also comes with a series of social applications – from Facebook to YouTube, as well as an app for listening to online radio - at the moment it's only been released in French language but the company say an English version is on the way.
