Chef Stevie Parle has announced a new pop-up venture partnered with Nokia. The young chef, famous for his work with the Moveable Kitchen and more recently his work at The Dock Kitchen, announced the pop-up partnership with the mobile phone company last night on twitter.
Called Spring Table - it will launch on the 17th to the 21st April in Milan. It will open during the days for lunch and afternoon tea and host private dinners in the evening. Using Italian ingredients sourced from Milanese markets and the temporary restaurant will be hosted within Cloisters and under the Leonardo da Vinci's frescos of the impressive Sala Del Cenacolo.
Stevie has years of experience in the temporary restaurant scene, his Moveable Kitchen project saw him do events in swimming pools, greasy cafes and even an old tailor's house in Shoreditch London. Ever since opening his restaurant in a studio shared with the designer Tom Dixon, who will be his partner for this venture also, the chef has kept his roots of thematic menus and relaxed dining setting, saying he prefers this over traditional formal dining experience.
The chef recently sat down with FDL to talk about pop-ups and how dining is evolving it's a fascinating interview with a young chef with strong views about the industry and if what he says is true - the Spring Table pop-up will focus on more than just food.
