Delicious, addictive, irresistible and… cultural? A list of some of the world’s chocolate-themed museums
The most recently created space devoted to honoring ‘the food of the Gods’ is in Caçapava, Brazil, 100 kilometers from Sao Paulo: it explains to visitors, via a futuristic elevated walkway constructed above the city, the production of chocolate cycle. The world, however, is full of museums dedicated to chocolate: amongst the best to visit lies in Barcelona, Spain, where you can even find works created using cocoa, made by none other than Antoni Gaudì himself.
In Alprose, Switzerland, a small museum explains the history of chocolate, while you can also visit a chocolate factory and sample some of the best Swiss confectionery. In Cologne, Germany, you can watch Lindt’s master chocolatiers as they create their chocolate rabbits, eggs and individual candies, while in Australia an entire village has been recreated in which all activities and attractions revolve around the life of chocolate.
