French chef Claude Bosi has shared a post on his Instagram where it appears the British Home Office has denied his application for residence in the UK.
The Lyon-born chef, who trained under the likes of Rostang, Passard and Ducasse in Paris is the chef-owner at the Bibendum restaurant in London. Amidst a Brexit crackdown on so-called foreign nationals living in Britain, it appears Bosi’s status in Britain could be under threat.
Bosi originally traveled to the UK to improve his language skills but what was supposed to be a short term stay turned into a long-term love affair and the chef chose to make his career in London.
A clearly dismayed Bosi complains that after 23 years in Britain paying tax, he may now be asked to leave his business behind and return to France. Brexit is looming in the UK and promises to cause huge disruption to the restaurant industry with problems sourcing ingredients and staffing issues just the tip of the iceberg.
Here is the fun chef sharing one of his early kitchen mistakes, we hope for Bosi and London's dining scene, the UK government get this one sorted soon.
