Save the Date: Great American Beer Festival Kicks Off Soon

Beer lovers, you have an open invitation to congregate in Denver this weekend for the 2014 Great American Beer Festival . The three-day event kicks off October 2nd and features the largest selection of American beer ever served in public tasting event.

To make matters even more exciting the Great American Beer Festival also hosts a competition in which unlabeled beers are judged by experts. Judges decide which beer styles best represent the 84 categories established by the festival. The winners are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. 

Aside from sampling hundreds of beers, visitors can enjoy farm to table cuisine courtesy of some of the country's leading chefs including Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman from Hog & Hominy in Memphis, Tom Worthington from San Francisco's Monterey Fish Market and Kyle Mendenhall from The Kitchen in Boulder.

In an effort to help guests navigate the massive beer festival, organizers have created a free app that offers maps, beer listings and more. It's available for download here.
