Galway Oyster Festival 2021
Join in the world famous seasonal celebration of Galway's oyster harvest, with shucking competitions, live music, a mardi gras dinner and much more.
The oldest oyster festival and longest running food festival in the world, the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival returns for another long awaited season in celebration of Galway’s rich annual oyster harvest.
The Irish and world oyster opening or ‘shucking’ championships are the main event of the festival, where a line-up of international competitors are judged not only on speed of opening but on technique and presentation.
Don't miss the Mardi Gras Gala Dinner on 25 September, for an evening of locally sourced food and entertainment.
To complete the festive atmosphere, there'll also be live entertainment, street parades, seafood trails and lots of eating and drinking options.
Be sure to save the date for what The Sunday Times once billed as “one of the 12 greatest shows on earth”.
