Toast. The great British staple. Perfect with your morning brew. Decorate it with Jam, or eggs or cheese and ham. It’s not the fanciest thing in the world, but we love it. But hold on a second, what’s this? Posh toast? In Hackney? Yes that’s right kiddos this week sees the launch of new pop-up gourmet toast residency Pretty F*cking Good Toast (PFGT) at the uber trendy Machine No.3 in Hackney, East London.
Helmed by ex-Noma chef David Darmanin, PFGT promises “toasts so fancy you could wear them on your head at Ascot Ladies Day”.
The collaboration will see Machine No3 pair their craft Beavertown beers with some of PFGT’s gourmet sourdoughs. Combos include duck salami and thyme butter, Parmesan, dark chocolate and water celery, matched with Beavertown’s Smog Rocket Porter, and seaweed butter, smoked haddock, burrata cheese and wood sorrel with their Lupuloid IPA.
So let’s raise a toast to toast and head down to Machine No.3 this weekend. It’s possibly the best thing since sliced bread.
Kitchen open Tues-Sat evenings throughout October.
