In the video below you'll see world renown chef Thomas Keller dump a bucket of ice water on his head for charity. It's all part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which raises awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The challenge has gone viral with a plethora of celebrities and common folks dousing themselves with ice water for a good cause. Everyone who is nominated for the challenge has the option of dumping icy water on themselves or donating money (the latter being less fun but more ideal). After completing the challenge, each participant then nominates others to do the same within a 24-hour time frame.
Keller had been nominated by chef Dominique Crenn and faced the ice water challenge clad in chef whites. Afterwards, he nominated Culinary Institute of America President Tim Ryan, San Francisco chef Corey Lee, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Lady Gaga (who gladly accepted the challenge). So far, the stunt has raised millions of dollars.
