José Andrés is the epitome of the American Dream. The celebrity chef spoke of his humble beginnings and the struggles he's faced while trying to make his dreams come true during this year's commencement ceremony at George Washington University.
The chef, who received an honorary doctorate from the university, dished out inspiring advice about life, career and family. His speech was peppered with humor and included cameos from Gwyneth Paltrow, Morgan Freeman, Matt Dillon, Owen Wilson and Eric Holder, among others.
José Andrés told graduates he fell in love with this idea that no matter what your background, everything is possible in America. "Don't be afraid of rejection, don't be afraid to knock on that door, don't miss the opportunity to sail into your future," he said.
