The war in Ukraine, together with post-pandemic supply chain pressures and runaway inflation, as well as Brexit, are causing a perfect storm for Britain’s restaurants, culminating in soaring food costs. Closing for part of the week and reducing menus are some of the ways chefs are coping with the situation, but as it continues, short-term solutions may not be enough.
After two years of pandemic stress, it seems chefs are forced to continue to get creative in order to keep their businesses sustainable.
