If you could design your very own kitchen, how would it look? Just imagine being able to start from scratch, the pass, ovens, workspace, cupboards – how would you do it?
It’s one of those questions that many chefs have considered in the past, and one of the most recent chefs to set about building a brand new kitchen from scratch is the three Michelin-starred chef Quique Dacosta.
Called The Food Design Lab, it is a modern space for Dacosta and his team to research new dishes, techniques and to play with a whole list of shiny kitchen gadgets.
The kitchen was created in collaboration with Porcelanosa – a kitchen design company who will also release a line of Dacosta designed kitchen equipment.
Speaking about his new toy, Dacosta said: “We have created a multifunctional kitchen: the most futuristic space when the kitchen doors are closed, and the most practical kitchen when all the doors are opened, and the closest table to the chef.”
