Yesterday was the first day of the S.Pellegrino Cooking Cup 2014 in Venice - a two day event that combines sailing and cooking in the beautiful setting of the Lagoon in Venice. Ten young chefs from ten countries presented their dishes to a jury of international chefs, including Gaston Acurio and Davide Scabin, before retiring to wait and hear who will be crowned the S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna Young Chef of the Year 2014.
Today another challenge awaits the ten chefs. Up early, they will head to the Rialto Market to buy the ingredients before heading to cook onboard their own country's boat. The boats set sail and the Regatta begind at 12.30 pm with ten crews challenging each other to compete with sailing and cooking.
After a full day of Regatta, a special Gala ceremony - held in the magnificient Palazzo Ducale - facing San Marco square - an icon of Venice around the world - will celebrate the winners of the Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino Young chef of the Year 2014, the People's Choice Award and the first ever Critic's Choice Award.
Below you can meet all 10 of the chefs competing in this year's edition: stay tuned to find out the winners as soon as they're announced.
