"We are all torn apart," chef Christopher Kostow from The Restaurant at Meadowood wrote in an Instagram post, as he and his team mourned the loss of the three-Michelin-star restaurant to the Glass Fire tearing across California.
"I want to thank all of the TRAMily that have ever graced this magical space-and all of the guests over the years who have enjoyed the efforts of these multitudes. What an honor it has been," he said.
The Californian restaurant was one of the latest local institutions to fall victim to the voracious wildfire, and after becoming engulfed by flames on Monday, it was reduced to rubble some hours later.
"The restaurant was involved when we got here this morning. We were able to put it out [but] unfortunately the water system, the tanks, got destroyed and then we ran out of water," Capt. Matt Dowland told ABC7news.
There has been an outpouring of solidarity and support from across the chef and food community, including Daniel Humm, Dominique Crenn and Kyle Connaugton.
Updates highlighted the current state of destruction once the fire was put out.
Dozens of Napa Valley wineries have also been destroyed by the ongoing wildfires.
