There’s something great about dining inside a truly old restaurant full of tradition and history. Every city seems to have at least one establishment that has stood the test of time, serving generations of families and maintaining a culinary status quo that’s comforting in a world of trends and one off pop-ups.
With this idea in mind, the team at Thrillist have published a list of the oldest restaurants in every State in the U.S.
The idea was to find the oldest continuously operating restaurant in each State, with the research unearthing some truly interesting finds.
The oldest restaurant on the list, the Red Fox Inn and Tavern in Virginia, dates back to 1728 - making it the oldest continuously operating inn across the U.S.
