Here’s a mango hack that will change the way you eat the tropical fruit forever.
Until now, most people used the same method to get to the sweet, delicious fruit inside a mango. Firstly, you slice the fruit lengthways in the usual manner, either side of the stone. Then you employ the 'avocado technique', which means you score the fleshy side of a slice and turn it inside out to achieve cubes of fruit. It’s fine, but this hack beats them all.
In a TikTok video by @katiefeeneyy, she shows her followers how her boyfriend eats a mango, and it’s a completely new way to do it.
- Cutting it horizontally, he then twists the mango in half, pulling it apart to release the stone.
- He eats the fruit from the stone and then bites down on it, twisting the other part to release the fruit from the stone – watch your teeth.
- He launches the stone for “the racoons”, which we don’t recommend, then takes a spoon and scoops out the lovely, fleshy fruit from the mango.

Obviously this hack only works for a perfectly fresh mango that’s soft enough to break free from the stone, yet firm enough to withstand some twisting manipulation. Try it out for yourself.
